GCSE Results 2023

We are delighted to announce another year of excellent GCSE results.  They continue the strong track record of success by our students who have faced such challenges over the 2 years of their GCSE courses.

This year, 81% of results are at Grade 5 and above (considered a ‘strong pass’) and 91% are at Grades 9-4 (the equivalent of an A*-C on the previous grading system). 45% of all results are at Grade 7 (A) or better, with 28% being at Grade 8 or 9 – the very highest grades.

More than a quarter of all students achieved at least 7 GCSEs at Grade 7 (A) or better. Among many outstanding individual performances are:

Pai Lustigman (9 Grade 9, 1 Grade 8, 1 Grade 7)

Katie Barel (8 Grade 9, 2 Grade 8)

Amy Freedland (8 Grade 9, 1 Grade 8, 1 Grade 7)

Tamara Brunert (8 Grade 9, 1 Grade 8)

Adam Hershkorn (7 Grade 9, 3 Grade 8)

Abi Caplan (7 Grade 9, 2 Grade 8, 1 Grade 7)

Dana Thomas (7 Grade 9, 2 Grade 8, 1 Grade 7)

Joe Rudling (7 Grade 9, 2 Grade 8)

Leona Lewis (6 Grade 9, 4 Grade 8)

Samuel Gatty (6 Grade 9, 3 Grade 8, 1 Grade 7)

Noah Oakley (6 Grade 9, 3 Grade 8)

Michal Paz (6 Grade 9, 2 Grade 8, 1 Grade 7, 1 Grade 6)

Noah Danker (6 Grade 9, 1 Grade 8, 2 Grade 7)

Headteacher, Dr Melanie Lee commented: ‘These are excellent results, achieved despite exceptional challenges during the most difficult years. The outcomes reflect the huge amount of work and utter dedication from both staff and students.

Our students should feel very proud today. With many individuals scoring top grades and others outperforming their own expectations it is clear that this cohort of GCSE students have a great future to look forward to. The prospect of so many of these capable, curious, talented students coming through to our Sixth Form is especially exciting for the whole JCoSS community.

I thank my colleagues for their exceptional hard work, professionalism and care which underpin everything that our students achieve.  They are a remarkable team, and I am profoundly grateful to them, and for them.
