In November a group of 34 Y13 students, soon to graduate from the JCoSS Leadership Academy, spent a long weekend in Budapest. The focus of the trip was looking at models of Jewish leadership from the past, present and future of the Hungarian Jewish community. We looked at Herzl, and at models of leadership during the Shoah, and spent a day with staff and students from the Lauder Javne School in Budapest. We also spent Shabbat at the Dohany synagogue and prayed with the local community. It was a really exciting co-operation with the Lauder School and the start of a close co-operation between them and JCoSS. Everyone on the trip had a fantastic time and returned exhausted but inspired to move forward with their leadership journeys.
