JCoSS has been rated outstanding in every category in our 2023 Pikuach Inspection.
Inspectors made judgements on three key areas:
- Quality of Jewish Education
- Jewish Personal and Spiritual Development
- Leadership and Management
We are extremely proud that the inspectors awarded such emphatic endorsement of this significant aspect of what JCoSS is and does as a school.
Inspectors visited a number of lessons and activities, as well as talking to students, staff and Governors. We were extremely fortunate to have been able to welcome the inspectors into JCoSS on two very special days – Yom Hazikaraon and Yom Ha’atzmaut, so this report captures not just the work of the Formal and Informal Jewish Education teams but also the true essence and spirit of our amazing school. Inspectors spoke about the overwhelmingly positive comments that parents made through the survey.
This judgement and outcome is richly deserved and is testament to the inspirational work of the entire Jewish Education Team, under the brilliant leadership of Mrs Juggler and Ms Levan.
Below are some of the special quotes from the report, and you can find the full report here.
“The way the school goes about developing students’ Jewish character and values is exemplary and is worthy of being disseminated widely as an example to other schools.”
“Students strongly feel that JCoSS is a vibrant, dynamic, pluralist Jewish environment, where all voices are heard, and everyone is able to engage in a wide range of Jewish experiences through both the formal and informal Jewish education provision.”
“Students have positive attitudes towards their Jewish learning and practice because the curriculum is exceptionally well planned and varied.”
“Students’ behaviour is outstanding throughout the school. The Yom Hazikaron assembly for example was highly moving and demonstrated the excellent conduct of every single student.”
“Students at the school benefit from outstanding leadership and management because the leadership of the school, including governors, communicates the school’s essence, a strong commitment to high standards of work, and to the students’ spiritual development and well-being.”
