Last week, JCoSS held an exciting maths drop-down day on the theme of Alice in Numberland.
There were lots of different cross-curricular maths activities throughout the day. Students learnt about ratio and proportions in food technology, in art they enlarged shapes by studying scale factors and inPE they carried out speed stacking to consolidate number patterns and sequences. We are also hosted Andrew Jeffery a mathemagician (he is a maths teacher and he is a magician) – and all students saw his amazing show in the morning. To conclude the day we hosted a Mad Hatters Tea Party where we showcased students work from the day along with eating all the cookies that were made earlier in the Food Technology room!
