Year 9 Portrait of the Year Award! Year 9 have been working on the theme of self-identity this year. They took their own photographs and investigated the work of professional artists to produce wonderful A3 acrylic self-portrait paintings.
Sarah Gidden, a local portrait artist, judged the winners and awarded prizes and ‘golden paintbrush’ trophies. Awards were also presented for the Headteacher’s favourite and for particularly skilful work identified by the art teachers.
The work is currently being exhibited in the Heartspace and has attracted many compliments from teachers and students. We are very proud of our year 9 artists.
