Zoom takes First Place

We thought you would like to hear about JCoSS Student, Zoom,
(7N) and celebrate in his success as a young cartoonist.

Zoom has just taken first place in the ‘BEST STORY’ category
at an International Comics festival at the French Institute
last week.  The competition was open to 8-16 year olds
and entrants were asked to do an adaptation of a famous work
as a one page comic strip.

Zoom entered his artwork from ‘PLANET OF THE ACE’ a re-working
of the film ‘PLANET of the APES’ starring his little brother Ace.
Which he’d previously used as the cover story for No.5 of his
comic, THE ZOOM!

Zoom also sent a copy of his latest comic, THE ZOOM! No.6 – JUBILEE ISSUE
to the Queen and received a letter back from Buckingham Palace
saying that she had really enjoyed it and thanked him for dedicating
it to her. She also wished him good luck in South Korea this summer.
[Zoom’s invited to represent the UK at their International Comic Festival in August –
he attended last year and won’Best international Child Cartoonist’

On behalf of everyone at JCoSS, we wish Zoom every success
as he continues on his journey.
