The JCoSS Environmental Department ran a lunchtime session to demonstrate reducing carbon footprint by using manual effort instead of electricity. Two “Smoothie Bikes” were brought into school with blenders attached to the handle bars. The students then had to “pedal” their way to making a scrumptious smoothie! This event was a great success and thoroughly enjoyed by the students, whilst the Environmental Department promoted healthy eating and exercise as part of a healthy lifestyle.
