Visit from the Oslo Jewish Community

Earlier this term we were delighted to welcome a group from the Oslo Jewish community into school. The group spent a weekend in London with New North London Synagogue and visited JCoSS on the Friday to find out what life as a teenage Jew in London is all about. There are no Jewish schools in Norway and the size of the Oslo community is less than the total population of JCoSS so the first reactions of the group was that they had never
seen so many Jews in one place! The group spent time with Mr Mordsley’s Year 8 class discussing the differences and similarities in their Jewish and teenage lives. My thanks go to Mr Mordsley, Year 8 and to Ms Toff for looking after our visitors.

Mrs D Juggler

Head of Jewish Learning
