Geography Field Trips

GCSE geography students explored urban environments as part of their fieldwork requirements. Students spent two days examining regeneration in Stratford, East London. They carried out data collection around the Olympic Park and surrounding areas to compare and contrast environmental quality in an urban environment.

In addition, Year 10 had a full day of exploring river processes in Epping Forest. They carried out numerous data collection methods for their fieldwork section of the Geography course; this included river velocity, bank width and depth. We were incredibly lucky with the weather, which brought days if not weeks of rainfall across much of the region (including the JCoSS Heartspace!) just as we arrived home.  What a perfect day to look at flood risk!
