Following discussions with the Office of the Chief Rabbi, JCoSS will operate under the Kashrut arrangements used by the majority of other Jewish schools and communal organisations.  The Kashrut arrangements will be supervised by Rabbi Michael Pollak.

Commenting on the arrangements, JCoSS Chair of Governors, Mike Grabiner, said:

“We are delighted at the outcome of these discussions which underpins JCoSS’s inclusive ethos and commitment to ensuring that the school is open to Jews regardless of background, beliefs or ability.”

On behalf of the United Synagogue, Chief Executive Jeremy Jacobs added:

“This is a sensible way forward in line not just with the arrangements for the majority of other Jewish schools but also those used by Jewish Care and other similar cross communal bodies.”
