Democracy Award given by the DfE

JCoSS are proud to announce they have been awarded a Discovering Democracy Award from the Department for Education, Cabinet Office and British Youth Council.  The award has been given in recognition of our democracy education and ‘student voice’ work, which gives JCoSS students the knowledge, skills and experience to play a full and active role in society.

Ben Abram, Informal Jewish Educator & Student Voice Coordinator for JCoSS commented ‘We are delighted and proud to receive this award.  At JCoSS we work hard to ensure that our students are good and kind citizens and understand British values.’

Jon Foster, Chair of the British Youth Council said:  “Congratulations to the Jewish Community Secondary School for enabling their pupils to take part in social action. It’s great to see the school encouraging pupils to take an active interest in the democratic process and their local communities.”
