Year 11 Balloon Release

These photos look the same, but there is a difference – 5 academic years.  The first two photos show the very first cohort of JCoSS students on their very first day of school, releasing balloons to mark the opening of the school and the start of their JCoSS journey .  Now, five years on at their Leavers’ Assembly, the same students release balloons again, signifying all that they have achieved during their time at the school. 

Headteacher Patrick Moriarty commented:  “We are so proud of our Year 11 students and all that they have achieved during their time here.  Most of them will of course be back for the Sixth Form, but we felt it was appropriate to mark the occasion when they were all together in school for the last time.  And what better way to do so than by reminding them of their first day at JCoSS.  Our pioneer cohort have done so much to shape the school, and we will always be grateful to these students and their families, for the faith they had in JCoSS from the very beginning, and for helping to turn the school from dream into reality.
